Rules & Roles
All rules are subject to change between now and the beginning of the game.
Roles
Detectives: You have the ability to root out spies! Each night, pick three people to investigate, and you’ll be told what special roles (including Spy, but not Villager) there are within that group - but not who has them, or how many. You can only investigate any given person twice.
There are three Detectives, but be careful - one of them is also a spy! For more details on Detectives, check the Detective Rules.
Jailer: You can pass judgment when the group doesn’t want to! If the group votes to not kick anyone off the island, then you can secretly pick one person, and talk to them that night. At the end of your meeting, you - and you alone - get to decide whether or not to kick them off the island. If they have any roles, they can’t use them that night - but they can’t be targeted by the spies, either!
Double Agent: You’re a spy so secret that even the other spies don’t know about you! You and the spy network aren’t told about each other, and if you get scanned, you come up as an ordinary villager. However, the only way for you to win the game is a spy victory - work to undermine the group from the inside!
Magician: You are a spy, but no ordinary spy - you can make somebody disappear! Once per game, when the spies vote somebody out, you can use your power to make them vanish from the game in total mystery. If you do, their role will not be revealed to the group - only to you!
- Of the twenty of you gathered here, six are designated as spies!
- Each night, the spies gather in secret, and vote one of their enemies off the island.
- At the end of each day, all players gather publically, and vote one person off the island.
- If every spy is voted off the island, or once half the remaining players are spies, the game is over.
- If the spies win, then all the non-spies are eliminated.
- Some of you will be given secret roles. Don’t reveal your identity unless you have to!
- Once the game is over, every remaining player on the island can make a single wish!
- Once all the wishes have been made, everyone - including the losers - votes on which wish will be granted.
- You cannot vote for your own wish.
- Each player starts the game with three golden coins! Depending on your performance during a day, you may be awarded an additional one!
- You can spend golden coins to purchase valuable luxury items, like extra food or survival gear.
- You can spend one golden coin at night to send an anonymous message to the group the following morning.
- Every time someone is voted off the island, their role is revealed afterwards.
- Each lodge on the island can only be used once. Once you leave in the morning, your goal will be to make it to the next lodge by sundown.
- Anyone voted off the island will be sent to the Loser’s Lounge until the game is over. You’ll still be able to watch the game, though!
